Disc Golf Classic
We've driven by the disc golf course at Morley field a hundred times, and walked the dog past it, but never took a flyer (sorry...) on it until yesterday.
Naomi and Oliver came down with Greg and Mike Turner, and we headed overland to the course. The Pro Shop is set up with a breathtaking array of cans from old energy and other drinks, and a full selection of discs for rental or purchase. As you can see, Naomi was well into the spirit of the event.
Since we arrived late in the day, our only option was to buy a couple of used discs to add to the ones that Greg brought. Like everything else, frisbees (dare I use the term?) have evolved into specialized, hi-tech devices fine tuned for specific purposes - drivers, putters, wedges, whatever. Oliver and Mike are holding the nouveau discs.
It was a frenzied contest, made even more interesting as the daylight waned and we had trouble seeing the baskets. One interesting course feature was the ultimate shoe tree. There must have been several hundred pairs of shoes in the tree, all up and down the branches. True public art!
