Craft Time

Here at the senior center, crafts are very important. They help the residents stay sharp mentally, and it's also a great chance to share quality time together. We have resident experts in many crafts, and this week the featured activity was fused glass. Under Barbara's watchful eye, we mastered the fine art of scoring, grinding and assembling our projects, tying them all together with that universal adhesive, Elmer's Glue. Once fired, they will become miraculous pieces of fine art, some day to be available at Sotheby's.

We made a set of delightful coasters, along with a small serving dish (not pictured).
We're anxious to see how these look when they get fired, as the glass will melt and pool, and the whole thing will take on a smooth and polished look. Maybe you can place a glass on one of them soon...

Speaking of crafts, Naomi and Oliver came down for a visit sporting their new scarves, knitted by Mme Sara.
